Everything on this website has been compiled for my personal interest and in the hope that others may find it of some use in following similar leisure pursuits. These are mentioned only because I have found them useful and in order to document reference sources.

The historical material has been compiled from many sources and where possible I have sought and obtained permission from the copyright owner of any substantial passages quoted. I have endeavoured to acknowledge the reference source of every factual statement, however insignificant. I am no expert in copyright law and even a a brief introduction can show many traps for the unwary. If you believe that I have infringed the copyright in anything of yours, please let me know.
